Benjamin K. Hearn, P.E. Named a 2026 Star in the AEC Industry

Benjamin K. Hearn, P.E., Vice President and Senior Project Manager, has been named a 2026 Rising Star by the Zweig Group and recognized on The Zweig List, a platform honoring the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry’s most innovative firms, impactful projects, and influential leaders.
The Rising Stars award celebrates emerging professionals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical excellence, and a strong commitment to advancing their firm, the AEC profession, and their communities. Honorees represent the next generation of leaders shaping the future of the built environment.
At GMB, Hearn is a trusted municipal engineering leader known for delivering practical solutions that strengthen communities. He serves as a key advisor to local governments across Delaware, guiding complex infrastructure improvements from planning through execution. His work on major water, wastewater, and municipal engineering initiatives demonstrates a commitment to long-term impact. Beyond his technical work, Ben is committed to public service. He has served in Delaware’s fire service for more than a decade, and he is currently volunteering with the Lewes Fire Department.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, is a licensed Professional Engineer in Delaware and Maryland, and is active in professional organizations such as the NSPE and ASCE. He is also certified as a Qualified MS4 Stormwater Permit Compliance Professional.
In addition to his recognition as a Rising Star this year, Ben also received the National Society of Professional Engineers – Delaware (NSPE-DE) 2026 Young Engineer of the Year Award.
