Lewes Canal Water Main Project Receives 2026 Engineering Excellence Honor Award

We’re proud to share that our team has been recognized with an American Council of Engineering Companies of Delaware Engineering Excellence Honor Award for the “Resilience Under Pressure: Lewes Canal Water Main Replacement Project.”

This project was critical in strengthening the Lewes Board of Public Works’ beachside water system, providing much-needed redundancy and increasing capacity to support future demand. What began as a complex infrastructure upgrade quickly escalated into an emergency response when an unexpected water main break occurred at an existing canal crossing.

Faced with tight right-of-way constraints, coordination with DelDOT standards, and challenging HDD connections, our team, alongside the BPW, regulatory agencies, Teal Construction, Inc. and other contractor partners, came together through strong collaboration to deliver a solution.

The result: a project completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to the Lewes community.
