2025 Scholarship Winners

GMB is pleased to announce the winners of our annual scholarship programs.
The George K. Miles Civil Engineering Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to students who plan to attend college to pursue a degree in civil engineering. Mr. Miles is a former partner at GMB and was involved in a variety of civil engineering projects throughout the Delmarva Peninsula. His brother, William Miles, was a founding member of GMB in 1960.
The Thomas S. George Architectural Memorial Scholarship is intended for a student who plans to attend college to pursue a degree in architecture. The award is named after one of the founders of GMB. Mr. George was instrumental in the design of many buildings throughout the Delmarva Peninsula, including several schools.
The 2025 recipients of the Thomas S. George Memorial Scholarship and George K. Miles Memorial Scholarship are:
- Kyle Thompson Jr.: Kyle was awarded the George K. Miles Memorial Scholarship. He graduated from Sussex Technical High School in Georgetown, DE and is attending Randolph-Macon College where he will major in civil engineering.
- Nathanael Groth: Nathanael was awarded the Thomas S. George Memorial Scholarship. He graduated from James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, MD and is attending Syracuse University where he will major in architecture.
- Colin Grimsley: Colin was awarded the George K. Miles Memorial Scholarship. He graduated from Century High School in Sykesville, MD and is attending University of Maryland, College Park where he will major in civil engineering.
