The newly constructed facility is designed to treat 70,000 gallons per day of domestic wastewater from two hundred and twenty five (225) single family lots and associated community center located on approximately 209 acres. The proposed biological nutrient removal treatment system is an Aqua SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) as manufactured by Aqua-Aerobic designed to lower effluent total nitrogen to 8 mg/l. A mechanical fine screen, disinfection unit, and a sludge dewatering press are also incorporated in the treatment facility to provide reliable, high quality effluent. The onsite disposal system will be comprised of subsurface drip irrigation, as manufactured by American Manufacturing Company, Inc. and is located remote from the treatment facility. SCADA monitoring and alarms are incorporated into the project.
A design-build approach was selected by the developer with George & Lynch, Inc as the contractor. The design-build contract amount for the complete treatment and disposal system was $3,800,000 with no change orders.
